Welcome to the Taconic Region PTA® The Taconic Region PTA is one of sixteen regions of the New York State Congress of Parents and Teachers, a branch of National PTA  We are located in the southeastern section of New York State and represent Dutchess County, Ulster County, southern Columbia County and  western Putnam County.
TaconicPTA: Board Training Each summer we hold a "Short and Sweet" session to train new PTA board members.

    This guidance provides educators with policy, program, and legal considerations that need to be addressed when dealing with the issues of bullying, cyberbullying, and general internet safety.
  • New York Wins Nearly $700M in Race to the Top Competition
    The United States Education Department today announced that New York State has been awarded $696,646,000 as a winner in the second round of the federal Race to the Top competition. Of the ten states named winners, only Massachusetts's application scored more points than New York's.
